Featured Presentation

SQL Server Performance Tuning – Keeping it Simple

Speaker: William Yeager, Principal IT Consultant AdminsDirect

Summary: Today’s world is full of websites containing highly technical information and can really overwhelm the DBA at any level of experience. While some may choose to deep dive into internals, there is tremendous value at keeping things simple as you work toward solving seemingly complex problems. Microsoft advocates an upside-down pyramid approach to problem solving, and with a few free simple tools – you can quickly begin to find your needles in the haystack of your systems. The purpose of this presentation is to outline quick approaches in order to keep things simple and solve problems fast.

About William: Bill is the Principal IT Consultant and owner of AdminsDirect, a database consulting company based in Orange County, CA. He has been an IT professional for over 13 years, and has worked for companies such as The Walt Disney Company, Warner Brothers, Quest Software, and IMFLash Technologies. Most of Bill’s current projects revolve around Database Administration, Systems Architecture and Design, Custom Database Programming, ETL, Data Warehousing, Performance Tuning, and Systems Integrations.
